9-Day Hydration and Clean Diet Challenge

Ultimately we are doing this for the kids but as your know best teacher is to lead by example. So here's the adult version first for you.

We eat every day. We drink every day. But how often do we stop to check what we’re actually putting into our bodies? From sneaky sugars in “healthy” drinks to chemical sweeteners hiding behind codes like INS 950 or 955 — we’re often consuming more junk than we realize.

The 9-Day Clean Hydration & Diet Challenge is a simple 9-day routine to help you (and your family) build better habits. By drinking enough water at key points in the day, choosing real food over processed, and becoming aware of what’s in your cup or plate, you’ll feel the difference — one mouthful at a time.

🕘 MORNING (7AM - 10AM)

Do you reach for your phone, or reach for a cup of water the moment your eyes are open?

Say no more but between having the urge to scroll something, your body is desperately asking for a cup of water first thing in the morning when you wake up because:

  • Your body wakes up dehydrated after 6–8 hours with no water.
  • That first cup helps “wake up” your organs, flushes out toxins, and gets your metabolism going.
  • It soothes your dry throat, rehydrates your brain (which is 75% water!), and even helps with smoother bowel movements.
  • For breakfast, try not to drink coffee first as you would want your body to wake up, and stay up naturally during this morning.
  • Skipping breakfast and head to office straight? Smart, certain fasting habit encourages you to skip breakfast to allow for the "dirty fats" or visceral fat to burn off easier.
  • If you're not skipping, pay attention to the usual quick breakfast bites like biscuits, cereals or even some breads. Unknowingly, these are actually processed foods to avoid.
  • Have fruits like banana or apple for easy convenience if you had to eat something.
  • Bonus: This is why water is so important as the temporary substitute to clear that hunger feeling especially if you are not use to not having breakfast.

🕘 MID-DAY (11AM - 2PM)

By now, you should have drank at least 2 cups of water. 1 in the morning, and another not just to quench thirst, but to fill the tummy.

  • Right on the dot of 11AM is the best time for coffee as the caffeine helps to take over the natural morning alertness that is now waning down.
  • In fact, just before the first sip of "rocket fuel", drink half a cup of water is best to dilute the acidic nature of the coffee. You only want the caffeine, not the acidity!
  • Drinking a cup of water just before the lunch meal is also recommended as it mindfully tells your brain that your tummy already has something - that carbonara pasta? Too filling now, shall go for Aglio Olio instead.
  • Water preps your stomach tract for smoother digestion, especially if you like spicy or "heaty" food.
  • You know what goes well with that chicken chop? A can of sweet sugary soda! Remind yourself that a plain cup of warm water is more than sufficient. Your future self thank you not just for the health but for the monies saved too.

🕘 AFTERNOON (3PM - 5PM)

Thanks to media influence, you are conditioned for a tea time now.

  • Bet you have that sugar craving too. Instruction is simple. Cut the snacks & tea here, especially if you add in sugar or milk.
  • Water is your only option because your mind is mis-interpreting thirst as hunger.
  • Just 1 glass helps you to refresh, improve focus & skip the junks.
  • Protip here would be to choose nuts like cashew or almond to be the healthy choice of chewing something.
  • Must. Avoid. Candies. Or. Gums. Or. Chocolates.
  • Golden hours for napping but unfortunately you can't. Best hack? Stand up, stretch, walk about to maintain the momentum of finishing your work here to call it a day.

🕘 EVENING (6PM - 8PM)

No brainer to have 1 cup of water just before dinner.

  • Like lunch, water before dinner supports digestion and can help prevent bloating.
  • If your dinner is salty, spicy, or sauce-heavy, water acts as a gentle buffer.
  • Hydrating in the evening also helps reduce unnecessary snacking later on — especially the "craving sugar while watching Netflix" problem.

🛏 NIGHT (9PM–11PM)

Before you say you don't want to drink because you want avoid waking up middle of the night to pee. Half good news and a bad news. Bad news is that your kidney is showing sign of distress as Nocturia disrupt sleep patterns too.

  • Half good news? Well, you only need to drink half cup of water to avoid exactly the Nocturia problem.
  • This half cup is extremely important as it helps regulate your body temperature, allowing it to cool down faster, so that you can sleep faster too.
  • It also reduce the severity of next morning mouth dryness and could possibly prevent leg cramps in the middle of the night.

📅 REPEAT THIS FOR 9 DAYS

If you do any counting above, that's near 8 cups of water - perfect! By drinking water at these key times daily, you're training your body and mind to expect hydration — just like brushing your teeth or tying your shoes. It becomes second nature.

It's ok if you don't get all the steps above on the first day, that's why we design it over 9 days - just like Fury's 9 lives!

By your 9th day, not having breakfast in the morning or snacks during tea time becomes the norm. Best part is you will definitely see improvement in your weight loss too.

Do it 2 more times and you would have reach a month. That change? Will surprise you. Upside in terms of mood. Downside in terms of weight! And at the sides? Shrunk!
